Supplying Seeds to Farmers

We are finalizing a comprehensive support plan and agreements for farmers to sign in order to receive our tested and approved variety of Industrial Hemp seeds.

We aim to introduce industrial hemp farming and collaborate with active farmers and growers to share challenges and successes in cultivating this remarkable plant.

As growing Industrial Hemp in Puerto Rico is an entirely new venture, it is important that we start off on the best possible foundation.  The success of other projects is directly tied to the farmers’  participation in the program as well as providing high quality hemp fiber with good tensile strength for future buyers.

In order to commit to programs for manufacturing Hempcrete bricks and plaster for example, we need to establish a predictable and ongoing supply of hemp fiber. We want to support the farmers by supplying seeds at our cost and to work with them throughout the entire growing season.  After harvesting, we contract to buy their bales and undertake the decorticating process locally. The farmers will determine which planting timeframes work best for their operations and we will supply seeds accordingly.

Challenges When Providing Seeds

Completing Research to determine Best Seeds
Order and Bring Adequate Supply of Approved Seeds for Farmers
Delivery of Seeds, Soil Testing and Cultivation Training

Progress and Updates:  Some farmers have offered to plant one acre for testing from initial seed batches once cleared for delivery to Puerto Rico. We hope accept their offers at the right time.
